Current Classes and Events

Classes are offered free of charge to patients and caregivers in El Dorado County who have been impacted by cancer. You do not need to have any experience with art or movement to sign up. Our objective is to offer a healing environment where you can take some time for yourself and enjoy the company of others. 

Most of our classes are held at the Marshall Cancer Resource Center in Cameron Park, unless otherwise noted.

Mindful Movement

This session will focus on pain management- through yoga, science, and pain care. Linda is a RYT500, certified iRest Yoga Nidra teacher, and has taught and studied many styles of yoga for over 25 years. 


Mondays, January 6th-27th from 4:00-5:15PM


Please come and be together in Yoga (union of mind/body/heart). This session, we will focus attention on the breath (pranamaya kosha) with breathing practices to increase oxygen, energy, calmness, and the capacity to focus attention. iRest Yoga Nidra 6-week Session

Learn the iRest protocol and 10 tools that will become trusted resources  that allow you to welcome and respond to every situation, sensation, emotion, thought, and experience you have. Learn to find a deep sense of ease and well-being regardless of what life presents; in the most profound and skillful way.

Wednesdays, January 15th- February 19th, 2020 from 3:00-5:00PM

Cost: $117 (includes meditation CD). Scholarships available through Images of Hope.

Creative Journaling & Watercolor Series

Join Creative Living Coach, Alison Tomei in this five week creative journaling challenge. Drawing inspiration from poetry, quotes, art and creative expression, we will follow a different prompt each week. Journaling can be a very relaxing and transformative process. All supplies are included.

Learn to Knit with Yarn Therapy for the Soul

Learn to knit with Theresa from One Thread. You will start with basic knitting skills, then move on to your first project.  Supplies for your first project are included. Theresa will be there to help you fix mistakes along the way, and before you know it, you’ll be knitting on your own.  Knitting has been proven as a therapeutic and healing tool to help alleviate stress and promote confidence, peace and connection to those who live under duress from work, illness or trauma.  Reservations are required. Tranquil Journeys Guided Meditation

Reconnect with your inner peace, and relax to the sounds of Tibetan singing bowls. Each session will explore self-help stress reduction methods, acupressure or energy healing. Inspirational meditations such as guided imagery, poetry, and mantras will be used along with the sounds of the bowls to create and environment for inner healing. Individual relaxation session are also available- call to find out more!

Equine Therapy

Images of Hope has partnered with Windows to My Soul, a place where humans and horses come together in a healing and transformative growth environment. Sessions focus on work on the ground rather than riding and are weather permitting.

Cindy is back to teach Synergy Pilates for a little “movement” therapy!  Learn the foundational principals of Pilates while developing strength, flexibility, balance and reconnecting to your inner strength. Beginner classes are available to get you up to speed! See how these gentle low impact exercises can help you to move more efficiently in your everyday activities!

Art in Public Places

We partner with Arts & Culture El Dorado to feature a rotating art exhibit as part of Art in Public Places. The art  is displayed in the Cancer Resource Center Classroom at the Marshall Cancer Center in Cameron Park.

Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is a relaxing, healing form of movement that can be done by people of all ages and abilities either standing up or sitting down.

Every Monday 9:00-10:15AM at the Veterans Building in Placerville.
